A few ago when I was taking my MEd at Australian Lutheran College I had the opportunity to write a paper on an issue I thought pertinent to Lutheran schooling in Australia and this was the result.
Looking back now I can see a few comments that I would have liked to have phrased differently but I still do hold to my conclusion that at the heart of a Lutheran school is worship. If you want students to learn about faith they must witness this event. Compelling them to be involved I would be uncomfortable with but compelling them to witness this, as Marva Dawn puts it, “Royal Waste of Time”, is of utmost importance.
